THIS COUNTRY'S LEADERS ARE NOW THE LEAST COMMON DENOMINATOR

.....and Trent Franks, "Congressman" from AZ-CD2 is the lowest of the least in this LCD equation. Too bad he never went to a real college to learn math and what LCD means (more on that after the primary). Why do I have "Congressman" in quotes, because in the worlds I live in (corporate Fortune 10 and academic), titles mean nothing without actual performance to show for it.

Example: One can claim a Ph.D. or any college degree but means nothing to us unless you can go toe to toe with a real equal in public or private; or, a Director/VP or above title means nothing unless you have the track record to back it up; titles can be bought or got through nepotism. Y'all have any idea how many people I have personally parked into VP slots called "Special Projects" before firing them? Guess what, Trent Franks is now VP of Special Projects and does not even know it. Why, because he claims a sham company like Liberty Oil as his corporate track record, yeah right!!!

No wonder these people have won in 2002 and 2004, they never know what a corporate freight train exec can do. We are called DRIVER-DRIVER in the MBA world, translated means "do not stand in their way unless you can match everything with them toe to toe: education, track record, brains, brawn, budget management, people skills, photographic memory, length and breadth of knowledge, ability to enthuse, ALL OF IT in one package, or you are doomed". What Trentie and the Republicans are about to find that out after September 12th is that people like me have fun doing this. Think Jack Welch, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Bill Clinton, Gen. Patton, Gen. MacArthur, et al. Get the picture?

Either you match us on stage or prepare to be shown up in public because political rhetoric cannot save even 1% of the pain. And you cannot hide from people like us because we will smoke you out. Think Ivanhoe!! So, what does this all mean?

Look at the title of this blog. Since Watergate we have been on a steady slide of being lead by people who are not the best of the best, the elite of the nation leading us with the qualities of a DRIVER-DRIVER. Even some people whom I admire greatly as people, like Jimmy Carter, failed miserably as leaders during the Iran hostage crisis by being indecisive and we are paying the price today. People tout Reagan as a great communicator, bah, he could not hold a candle to JFK or Churchill. What happened in the slide is the bar slowly fell and mediocre performance seemed amazing. I have students who fail my classes telling me they were honor students in high school, oh my!! The bar has fallen to below sea level.

What does this bring us? People like George Bush, Cheney, Trent Franks, Tom DeLay, et al, who are mediocre by WORLD standards on their best day. Heck, Bush actually toots the fact he is made Prez as a C student. What a crock!! He neglects to tell people that he was born with a silver foot in his mouth as the grandson of Prescott Bush (as said by Gov. Ann Richards of Texas), the son of a well connected President, and got admitted to Yale as a legacy. He gets home from having been born on third base and thinks he has hit a homer. To someone like me who has hit homers since birth, Bush is a rank amateur, defeatable hands down. Trent Franks, even worse, sits in the shadow of this mediocrity, lives at home plate, and he thinks he has hit a homer. The gall of it all.

The worst part, the people who follow these idiots think they are all Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron, hitting real homers when all they do is play sleight of hand with the minds of their stupid followers.

What is different this year? People like me are running, people who are Ivy Leaguers yet common people. While the legacies like George Bush were playing in my school, I worked two jobs as janitor and at Burger King to eke my way through school. I ate one meal a day because I could not afford more (this is why I can still do with one meal a day). I bought my first car, a Ford Galaxie 500, for $200 because that is all I had. Luckily gas was 19 cents a gallon, no kidding!!! What has Bush done for us, he has given me $3 gas, and a trillion dollar deficit that shovels our Treasury Bonds to China, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Russia, etc. We are beholden to foreign nations today which weakens us far worse than any external threat. Our education and health care systems are the world's worst while we pay three times more than the best nations do for the same.

This has to stop, and NOW. The sham has to end, terror means nothing if we have no nation left to defend, one crumbling from the inside. The leaders we need are not the LCDs, but the exact mathematical opposite of that equation, those of the HIGHEST COMMON PRINCIPLE.

The Hopi Nation: Original (and mainly forgotten) Arizonans from 1150 AD

A few days ago I had the pleasure of visiting the Hopi Indian Native Sovereign Nation in the extreme northeastern part of CD2. I was warmly received by their Chairman, Mr. Ivan Sidney, and his wonderful senior staff, Mr. Harold Joseph, his Chief of Staff, and Ms. Bertha Parker, his Press Secretary. As an East Indian myself, I felt an immediate bond of the soul, and I know, so did they. I was told that Hopis are a reserved people and do not speak to strangers. As I walked the streets just talking to people, I had many just come up to me, and some even pulled my leg with jokes and anecdotes; one even thought I was a local and asked for directions. I loved that part, since I am true citizen of the world.

Do you know that Trent Franks has been Congressman for CD2 for almost FOUR years and have never visited these people; almost 12,000 people are members of the Hopi Nation. They are in dire need of help, and these are our Arizona ancestors. How can we spend half a trillion dollars over three plus years killing 46,000 children in Iraq when I saw with my own eyes the 50% unemployment, the severe drug and alcohol problems, and desperate need for real infrastructure, the need for world class health care, and most of all jobs, jobs, jobs, close to where they live.

These are a proud people; their oldest village was established in 1150 AD and these are the oldest continuously inhabited villages in our great nation. I met many people on the streets and in the restaurants and stores. I met highly decorated veterans who have served us in all our wars, from WW2 to Iraq. These are proud people with proud wonderful traditions. These are our brothers and sisters who carry the same passport we do, UNITED STATES. Yet, Trent Franks seems to think that equality is just a useless word in the Jeffersonian document, not to be taken seriously. Trent thinks that to be a person who is served by him one has to live in the Phoenix metro area. The farther out you go from 75th Avenue and Bell Road, the less he seems to care about the area.

To be a real Congressman, one has to equally serve all residents of CD2, from birth to age 120, and no matter were they live. And not just from one party or another, when elected one serves all. Strangely, I have never met Trent Franks personally though I have been his constituent his entire time in office. Sending me postcards tooting his horn does not count. Do you know it costs tens of thousands of dollars of YOUR money each time to send out those postcards. I have told the people of CD2 that I will not waste my congressional allocated budget on useless things like self-aggrandizing postcards, I will spend it on opening fully staffed congressional satellite offices in the Hopi Nation, Kingman, Lake Havasu City, and Bullhead City, in addition to my main office in Sun City. I will personally visit these offices at least once a month, because I am a master at time management after running worldwide organizations. With these visits the people can personally tell me their issues and also I can share with them the contents of various House Bills that may be of interest to them. This is called a true democracy, a true REPRESENTATIVE of the people. These constituents are so pleased to hear about my opening local offices, they have offered to help me secure office space at little or no cost.

Where's Johnny?

Why is John Thrasher running scared? A month or so ago Chat asked a mutual friend to set up a debate between the three Democratic candidates in CD2 so that voters could hear all the candidates' views - to no avail. Then on Sunday at the Mohave County Democratic Picnic, Chat again challenged John to a debate, only to be told by his opponent's manager that they wouldn't take part because "why should we give you the upper hand?"

Huh?

First of all - the upper hand isn't theirs to give and secondly, if John is scared of debating Chat, how does he think he can stand before a Republican challenger and beat him? Or maybe he's banking on Trent Franks' track record, and Franks' famous reluctance to debate anyone.

John, John, John - if you can't take the heat of a democratic debate when - heaven forbid - you will actually have to think on your feet and speak without notes - how will you venture into the Republican kitchen where you will face being seared, before being skewered? You scuttled away from the Mohave County picnic like a frightened rabbit on Sunday - you didn't even give your two opponents the courtesy of staying to hear their speeches. Which was both bad manners and rather rude.

By your refusal to debate, hard working, and loyal Democrats in CD 2 are being denied a fair opportunity to judge the rival candidates for the Democratic party's nomination. Is that fair? Is that the way you get votes? My father used to tell me it is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, rather than open it and prove it beyond all reasonable doubt. Maybe yours did too. And maybe THAT's the reason you don't want to debate Chat.

"I have approached John's campaign and invited and encouraged him to participate in a debate with Gene Scharer and myself," Chat told me, "but his people have refused to consider the idea.

"If this refusal reflects John's own views, I have to wonder if he's really ready to even be a candidate in this race. Politics requires direct face to face interaction in the exchange of ideas -- and the people of this district should insist that *every* candidate who stands for office be prepared to offer that. Otherwise, they might just as well be talking to themselves."

So once again, and publicly this time, we're asking John to participate in a formal public debate before the primary, to be held at a place of his choosing. Any time, any place, any where. Arizona's Energy Future

I have been thinking about Arizona and energy ever since the BP pipeline break in Alaska. Arizona's energy issues are the same as for the nation. I want to be in Congress to think America and my District first, all else comes next. There are no red and blue states, just individual good people, with some bad apples hanging in there.

Our energy policy is so short sighted that we think that being like the ant and the grasshopper is an energy plan. We store like the ant and release it when needed. Our administration thinks like elementary school children because, it appears, they were the children left behind. What should we do in Arizona?

AZ has 330 days of sunshine a year, no kidding, we are drenched with free energy like no other state in the union (even the so-called "Sunshine State" of FL). And what do we have as a solar energy policy, nada. If you drive around our state you will see that our energy companies have massive coal and oil fired plants. Yet, we could have 100% energy independent homes if we used solar power for electricity, water heating, etc. In ten years in AZ I have never seen a day when there is no sun the whole day. Even our worst day has ambient sunlight peeking through, enough to power solar panels.

We have almost five million people living in the greater Phoenix area (and growing like a weed) and if we switched to solar power with federal funding the payback would be rapid and we could go off oil as a power source in that segment. Then we could divert the saved oil to our cars and trucks. We shall never become energy independent with current rhetoric masquerading as policy; we will do so only using our engineering minds and rapidly implementing already proven current technologies. If we want to stick it to OPEC, we should stop buying their products, period. Watch them wither on the vine.

Our current congressman, Trent Franks, is 100% beholden to oil companies and reelecting him will get you none of these forward thinking solutions, and you can take that to his bank !!!! Vote Chat into Congress, the first true technologist to hold such a position, and watch real technical ideas be funded from Washington to solve real people's real problems. VOTE FOR ME.

Chatterjee for the next generation

Hello, this is Dr. Chat, and I am running for Congress from District 2 in Arizona. The extreme right wing Republicans have stolen our great Jeffersonian Constitutional Republic out from under us while we were busy raising our families and making ends meet with more than one job. They have a very narrow agenda that suits no one save a few of their own, and least of all our nation. Through this utterly self-serving process, over just the past six years, they have made us a laughing stock in the world and eroded all that we stand for. They have frittered away the moral and ethical high ground we built between Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941, and the end of the Clinton era at noon on January 20, 2001. We built this great wave of love the world had for our great nation through:

• Winning World War II,
• The Lend-Lease Agreements where we literally gave away arms to fight the Axis Powers,
• The Marshall Plan,
• The Berlin Airlift,
• Winning the Space Race in every way,
• Leading the world in technology and other innovations,
• The creation of Israel as a haven for the downtrodden Jews who were slaughtered by the Nazis,
• Keeping the world on an even keel and moderate,
• being the beacon for the world,
• The Peace Corps,
• US Agency for International Development (AID),
• The Committee for American Relief Everywhere (CARE),
• Fulbright Scholarships,
• the Public Law-480 Food Aid,
• saving at least half of Korea from the damnation that is now North Korea,
• Taiwan,
• rebuilding Japan and Germany,
• fighting and stopping communism through staring down Krushchev and removing the missiles in Cuba,
• stopping the communists cold through sacrificing 58,000 of our lives in Vietnam,
• the famous handshake between Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat brought about by President Carter,
• the bringing down of the Berlin Wall,
• Glasnost and Perestroika,
• the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO),
• SEATO and CENTO in Asia,
• the Organization of African States,
• creating the United Nations,
• creating the North and South American New World alliances and treaties,
• and so much more, you can fill in the rest!!!

Show me one thing these brainless people in the current administration and their cronies in Congress have done remotely close to the list above. They have us bogged down in a useless war in Iraq in the name of saving us from terrorism (they wrongly call it 'terror') when they should be making real friends who help us find the real enemy, Osama Bin Laden. Instead, we make more new enemies every day by driving moderate Muslims into the arms of their right wing fundamentalists. The honest truth is that the right wing people in power today in the USA are just as crazy and driven by religious fanaticism as those whom they claim to be our enemies in the right wing in Islam.

They use the heinous attack of September 11, 2001, purely towards their own ends and aggrandizement. Look around you and learn this fact. They say they have shored up our FEMA for the next terror attack on our soil and show how terrible they are at rudimentary planning and management through their apalling response to Hurricane Katrina. They blatantly violate Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) by awarding billions in no-bid contracts to their cronies like Halliburton. Why does no one ask how this happens, and no Congress proceedings are initiated?

We need to regain our rightful place on the world stage instead of being what we have become, ignored and ridiculed the world over because we have chosen sides now by saying things like "bring it on", "either you are for us or against us", etc. Guess who said these words? Our useless leader, George Bush, who claims to be Ivy League educated but shows no evidence of the same.

Rosa Parks is my #1 hero and she showed me that one person can indeed change the world. So, after seeing the above being done to the country and its citizens whom I love dearly, I decided I will no longer sit and watch this happen; I will go to Washington and drive the changes myself. I have done this before in corporate America as an engineer, computer scientist, and executive, and in our leading universities as a professor for the last 35 years (yes, MY two jobs for over three decades which kept me distracted).
